DropBox Pro Premium offers 1 TB of storage for Just $ 9.99/Month and password protection along with remote wipe facilities, priced the same as Google’s cloud storage service for the same real estate and comparable to Microsoft’s $ 3 for 200 GB storage. This would seem like a major response to markets and competition since Dropbox used to charge $ 9.99/month for 100 GB storage.
In the process Dropbox has retired all previous storage options and has made 1 TB the defacto default option. The other pleasant surprises are that premium users get the facility of being able to delete remotely files from a lost device in addition to password protection of shared links and files. This means only people you allow can see links and files and edit or modify them.
According to ChenLi Wang, Head of Product at Dropbox, the company is focused on simplicity and ease of use as well as maximum number of features in a value for money proposition.
