Microsoft Plans to make its Enterprise Mobility Suite active on 1st May. Speaking to press the new CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella announced the new offering aimed at enterprises and designed to help them manage all portable devices used by their employees.
The Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) is comprehensive in scope. It helps enterprise adapt to the clouds and manage mobile devices used by their employees through a seamless interface. Both Satya Nadella and Brad Anderson, Vice President for Windows Server & System Center were of the opinion that this suite is a breakthrough offering. It should gain widespread acceptance and change the way large enterprises and their IT departments manage devices. The suite helps enterprises to identify Azure Active Directory Premium management and access. It also powers mobile device and mobile applications management on the Windows based Intune Utility. A plus point is that EMS also includes data protection that forms part of Azure AD Rights Management Services. Azure Active Directory Premium allows IT departments to manage passwords and configure log in to dozens of SaaS applications and this service is expected to become operational in April. The suite is not restricted to Windows or Azure and will also work seamlessly with third party apps and services such as those offered by Google Docs and Salesforce.com. The winner is IT department of each large enterprise that can do more with fewer efforts. Microsoft already has Intune or theSystem Center2012 R2 Configuration Manager in operation. Intune allows organizations to configure security policies and manage mobile apps. However, EMS is a step further and helps IT departments carry out all these operations from the Azure cloud platform. According to Satya Nadella, this new Suite offers better protection of assets without hindering freedom of staff to use their mobiles and install applications of their choice.
Microsoft intends to change on a per user basis and will offer the Suite through channel partners from 1st May 2014.
